Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day - The Movie
I don't understand what the point of this film is. It markets itself as a continuation of the AnoHana TV show, but it plays mostly like a recap movie. The only new addition to the film is what can only be called a framing device, where the characters are writing letters to their dead friend Menma, and remembering key moments from the TV show (which chronicles the period when Menma came back as a ghost) in the process. There are a few new scenes beyond that (and in fact most of the new stuff is really good), but so much of the film is spent on re-used show footage that they feel insignificant in comparison.
